An installation on the theme of scientific discovery, exploration and the creation of maps, charts and globes. The centre-point is a large rotating white sphere, onto which an uninterrupted automatic drawing is made over the duration of the exhibition. The movement of the drawing stylus is translated from the seemingly erratic swinging of two independent bodies on a pendulum. Here the globe can easily allude to our planet whereby the earth's actual physical mass and gravitational properties are creating a kind of mapping onto an image of itself. As the movement of the pendulums can be triggered by the viewer, the interactive nature of the installation would create a sompletely unique set of mappings every time. Each globe would embody a completely individual moment in time.
